Not Just Nike, Now Aldo Too

Close upon the heels of the Nike love over at Thomas Tait comes word that Aldo has done an awesome loafer/sneaker collaboration for J.W. Anderson. Susie Bubble is gushing, and I’m onboard as well.

London for Drama

If I were a stylist, London would be my pick for red-carpet looks. The quality of design and production in London is great, but since the designers are a bit under the radar, I think they take risks and go over the top which, when used for good, is perfect on the red-carpet.  Cate Blanchett is my dream client, and all these looks would be A-MAZING on her.

lo.light: Christopher Kane

I shudder to contemplate how much the jeans will retail for. Similarly, while the shoes look like a $5.00 special from Santee Alley, I’m sure the reality will be much different.

Promising in London – Thomas Tait

Thomas Tait is young, around 21, but his work is astonishing. Take the first look, black leather biker jacket, black skinny pants – it could be blah, but its not. The jacket is disciplined with it’s small zippers, the mandarin collared shirt is a concise and elegant pairing with the jacket and goodness, the sneakers are such a fresh idea (btw, are those nike free?).  The elegance of the look means it doesn’t look out of place with the overtly feminine looks in the  same show illustrated in the companion photo.

update: After I wrote this post, I saw Cathy’s take, and she loves Thomas Tait too! It’s honestly a no-brainer. His talent is pretty obvious, but in her blog-post she confirms the sneakers are Nike.
