Wren x TenoverSix
photo
basicallyclothed.com
I stopped in at TenoverSix last night to check out Wren’s fall collection and watch Tavi of Rookiemag.com sing and appear disaffected and cool in a short film. Both the TenoverSix and Wren teams are great ladies (and a great dude!), and it was fun to be included. I also walked away with a goodie bag – my first fashion swag!
Jil Returns

Women’s Wear Daily is reporting that Jil Sander is returning to her label. While that’s amazing news in one sense, it leaves a huge question: what will happen to Raf? I and the rest of the fashion-watchers will be waiting to see what’s next for him. My hope is that he can focus on fostering his own brand for a time.
(Golden Globes) hi.lite: Calvin Klein

I was drowning in beads and ruffles until this Calvin dress threw me a lifeline. It wasn’t the same wow-factor as Emma Stone’s Calvin last year since Heidi couldn’t resist the jewelry, but definitely in the same neighborhood. I don’t have the blog space or interest to cover the lo.lites.
Inez & Vinoodh

I met Inez Van Lamsweerde today. Have you seen the piece focusing on her in intothegloss.com? Back to the story – Inez, Vinoodh, George Cortina and others strolled into Handsome Coffee Roasters today. She was sweet and we talked about coffee. It was the most exciting moment of the year! Even better, she posted and tweeted about her visit (see: blog post for Nov. 17th), so I know it wasn’t all in my head.
VPL Shoes

VPL previewed a small collection of vegan shoes for Spring 2012 last week. It’s a great idea because vegan shoes generally leave a lot to be desired in the design department, so it’s nice to see more good-looking options in the category.
Rag & Bone D.I.Y. x Mina Shin
The Rag & Bone D.I.Y. project launched ealier this year. Here’s the concept in their words:
…our favorite girls get into our jeans. No stylist, no hair and make-up, no lighting. Just a girl and her camera. And Rag & Bone.
So far the Rag & Bone D.I.Y. girls have been major models, but the latest girl is one of my favorite Korean actresses, Mina Shin. She has a distinctive look which is rare in the Asian entertainment world where plastic surgery is a bit too common. Rag & Bone/jean is a reliable basics line, and this pick for the D.I.Y. project has me thrilled.

Hermes Colors
According to Refinery29, this coloring book is $135. I’m not sure what more to say about this, other than the fashion world can be insane.
Undercover
My favorite coat for fall is by Undercover, a Japanese label. There’s so much to love here, the classic camel color and swing shape, but then there’s the collar, vented armholes and chunky zippers for some edge.

I also give a lot of credit to Maryam Nassir Zadeh for excellent styling all around.
