It takes a certain girl to wear Givenchy couture, and, while Rooney Mara via the Social Network isn’t that girl,  Rooney Mara via Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is exactly the right fit. The strong beauty statement through her hair and make-up cuts the marshmallow sweetness that an all white dress has and allows all the beautiful details on the dress to stand out in relief.  For similar reasons, Cate Blanchett also impressed in a Givenchy couture dress at the Academy Awards earlier this year.  Givenchy couture calls out for something more than the conventional pretty normally on the red-carpet. Or perhaps its the reverse, only a strong beauty can complement such special clothes.
